Magnosco is a researching Start-up located in Berlin-Adlershof.

Our goal is: Improving the diganostic in Dermatology

We are using AI and laser spectroscopy. Our first application is early skin cancer detection.

We are a compentent, interdisciplinary and dedicated team of 9 people. The DermaFC is our first, certified medical product to detect skin cancer. We are now working on the new generation of our device for the international market.

The Science Division at Magnosco GmbH seeks well-prepared candidates for a position in scientific machine learning. The successful candidate will be performing machine learning research and development for scientific discovery on dermatofluoroscopy, one of the worldwide most promising tools in non-invasive, in-vivo skin cancer diagnostics. This work will include development of automated machine learning, reinforcement learning, and deep learning for further development of the dermatofluoroscopy technology platform. The successful candidate will actively collaborate with scientists from various fields such as physics, chemistry and biology.

We are looking for a Deep Learning Engineer (m/f/d) to support the user-centric development of our innovative medical products.

Your task are amongst others:

• Train machine learning and deep learning models on a computing cluster to perform visual recognition tasks, such as segmentation and detection.

• Develop state-of-the-art algorithms in deep learning (convolutional neural networks) and object detection/classification based on fluorescence spectra and images of skin lesions.

• Optimize deep neural networks and the associated preprocessing/postprocessing code to run efficiently on an embedded device.

How to excite us:

Required Skills:

• Masters Degree in Computer science, electrical and computer engineering and 2+ years of professional experience.
• 4+ years experience with Python (Scikit-learn, Pandas, Numpy) or MATLAB.
• 1+ yrs experience designing and implementing deep NN architectures (both convolutional and recurrent) using open-source deep learning frameworks, e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch or commercial software such as MATLAB.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Software development practices and techniques for computational and data-intensive science problems.
• Ability to understand and implement methods from latest machine learning articles.
• Experience and skills in interdisciplinary research involving computer scientists and discipline scientists.

Desired Skills:

• Ph.D in Computer science, electrical and computer engineering or related field with focus on deep learning and feature discovery.
• In depth knowledge and working experience on the various aspects of training and deployment of deep networks.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms & principles.
• Experience building deep NN models for image classification, object detection and semantic segmentation.
• Familiarity with creating standalone applications.
• Experience with computer vision libraries like OpenCV.
• Interest in multidisciplinary research.
• Publications in top conferences and peer-reviewed scientific journals.
